Sentai Spa at Resorts World Birmingham: The Spa That Wasn't
After an incredible experience at the luxurious spa at Resorts World Las Vegas, we were eager to explore the Sentai Spa at Resorts World Birmingham during a recent conference trip. We booked online and prepaid for two 50-minute Zen massages, arriving early with high hopes of enjoying a full spa day. However, our expectations were quickly tempered, and what unfolded was a mix of good and underwhelming.
A Limited Spa Experience
Unlike the Las Vegas location, Sentai Spa does not offer the robust amenities you might expect from a spa attached to a high-end resort. We were surprised to learn that our massage bookings did not grant us access to the hotel’s pool or fitness facilities. These amenities are shown on the spa website but are available only for an additional fee, and even the lockers and changing rooms were off-limits to spa guests.
Instead, we were directed to a small relaxation room with basic chairs and complimentary tea and coffee. While the beverages were a nice touch, the lack of hot tubs, saunas, or any other wellness amenities left us feeling a bit let down. It’s worth noting that this spa operates more like a stand-alone massage center rather than a full-service spa.
The Massage: A Highlight
Despite the lack of facilities, the massage itself was a bright spot in our visit. We were taken to a comfortable couples room, dimly lit for relaxation and equipped with sinks, a shower, and well-padded massage tables. The ambiance, while simple, was soothing.
We were able to choose from a selection of pleasantly scented oils, which added a personalized touch to the experience. Our therapists did an excellent job targeting our tight necks and hips—much needed after long days spent on the tradeshow floor. Both of us left the room feeling relief and relaxation, which was exactly what we needed.
Should You Visit Sentai Spa?
If you’re looking for a high-end, all-encompassing spa experience with saunas, hot tubs, and extensive amenities, Sentai Spa may not be the right choice. However, if your primary focus is on getting a quality massage in a clean and comfortable environment, it’s a solid option.
Pro Tip: Be aware of what’s included (or not) with your treatment before booking. If your expectations are aligned, you’ll likely enjoy your visit.
In summary, Sentai Spa at Resorts World Birmingham delivers great massages but falls short as a full-service spa destination. For those in town for business or leisure and in need of a relaxing treatment, it’s worth considering. Just don’t expect the luxurious amenities of its Las Vegas counterpart.
